Faith

We unite our hearts to become Christ’s church in this place. We seek to follow the way of Jesus, known and to be more fully known to us. We accept the grace of God freely extended and seek to live each day in this faith. In God we live and move and have our being.

We believe that expressions of faith are as diverse as there are people, and the common thread that runs through all is love. With respect for all beliefs and practices, diversity and acceptance becomes a cornerstone of our ministry. We rejoice in our differences while we affirm our similarities. We believe, as Paul Teilhard de Chardin wrote, that “We are not human beings on a spiritual journey, but spiritual beings on a human journey.” As such, we celebrate and join with the love, beauty, and grace of God. We look toward Jesus as our brother, Christ, friend, and teacher. We seek to know ourselves as always and everywhere surrounded and sustained by the breath and Spirit of holiness.

Our church stands as a place where the God-given personhood of all people is mutually respected and affirmed. A place that values open dialogue and diversity as a gift of God. A place where the integrity of one’s spirituality can be intentionally sought and discerned. A place where the full freedom for spiritual thought and liberty of personal conviction is respected. A place that endeavors to break down the dividing walls that separate and isolate people. A place of welcome and hospitality where we experience and share the blessings of God.
